What You'll Do:
Under general supervision, you'll perform, analyze, and interpret a wide range of complex diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures. This includes transthoracic echo, treadmill and dobutamine stress echo, and assisting physicians with transesophageal echo (TEE) procedures. You'll work with patients referred for evaluation of suspected or known heart disease, post-operative evaluation, or placement of cardiac devices. You'll tailor each examination to accurately represent cardiac anatomy and pathology, monitor patient vital signs, measure cardiac structures and blood flow, and complete preliminary reports for the reading cardiologist.
Independently perform high-quality, professional-level cardiac ultrasound examinations.
Determine diagnostic parameters and adjust imaging as needed.
Utilize specialized imaging techniques (echo contrast, 3-D quantification, myocardial strain imaging, etc.).
Perform echocardiographic studies in the Cath Lab.
Provide treadmill and dobutamine stress echo imaging.
Assist physicians with TEE procedures.
Perform accurate measurements and calculations.
Summarize patient history, exam measurements, and relevant data for preliminary assessments.
Alert the cardiologist of critical findings.
Provide excellent patient care.
Contribute to professional development through meetings, training, and case presentations.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Participate in training cardiac sonographer students.
Travel to remote clinic sites (up to two hours away) may be required.
What You'll Need:
Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential from ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential from CCI.
Current BLS certification.
Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation.
What's Nice to Have:
Previous experience as an adult or pediatric echocardiographer, echo tech, or cardiac sonographer.
New graduates are encouraged to apply and will participate in a 6-month echocardiography preceptorship/mentorship program.
